78% of Brits would opt for a detox holiday over a boozy party holiday

BRITS are saying goodbye to boozy holidays and turning their attention to holidays that will benefit their health and wellbeing, according to new research.
A survey of 1,012 UK adults carried out by PlenishCleanse.com, found that 62% of Brits would opt for a relaxing detox holiday or wellbeing retreat over the typical ‘Brits abroad’ alcohol fuelled party holiday.
Those aged 25-34 are leading the growing trend of health and fitness holidays and are 25% more likely to enjoy this kind of holiday than those aged 35-44.
Following in the footsteps of A-list celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham, the data suggests Brits are taking their health and wellbeing much more seriously, and using their time away from work to truly relax and unwind.
1 in 5 (19%) health-conscious Brits have been on a detox holiday in the last 12 months. while 28% say they are hoping to book one in the next 12-months.
A trip to a spa hotel is the most popular type of health and wellbeing holiday (66%), followed by a yoga retreat (57%).
Fitness bootcamps (35%) are the third most common type of health and wellbeing holiday enjoyed by UK adults.
Walking or hiking (22%) came in fourth place while cycling holiday came in fifth (16%).
Surprisingly, 1 in 4 men would go on a yoga retreat, while just 6% of women would consider a cycling holiday.
It’s not just specific health and fitness holidays that British fitness fanatics are enjoying – 1 in 4 (26%) of those surveyed said they regularly visit the gym when on holiday.
